The World's Cutest Ewok. Oh Wait! It's a DOG!

When it comes down to the decision whether to write a blog entry or to play with my dog, most of the time Koukla wins.  She's the Boss of me, after all, and I have to do whatever she says.  Just look at that face...  Who could resist it?

Koukla is a Shih Tzu, with all the skin problems that Shih Tzus can have.  We keep her skin in great condition with Darwin's Natural Pet raw organic food, but there's always a critter or a fungus lurking, especially this time of year with Spring springing all over!  Sure enough, something bit her on the neck and made her itch like crazy, so out came the DERMagic Skin Rescue Lotion!  The very next day, the booboo was scabbed over and healing, and not itching at all.

Keep it handy!  Bug Bite Season is coming soon to a neighborhood near you!

Best wishes for an itch-free summer!

Skin Rescue Lotion... Dogs and Cats!

Greetings, Everyone,

Did you ever wonder why our Skin Rescue Lotion was once named "Hot Spot Lotion"? Well, back in the day, we believed that hot spots were the most common skin problem in dogs and that customers would be looking for this name in the product name.

It turns out that "allergies" and "yeast" and "alopecia" and "hair loss" and "mange" and "black skin disease" and so many other names for dermatological problems are just as common. In fact, it seems that so-called allergies are the most commonly diagnosed skin disease in dogs these days.

For customers who are looking for a product that will help their animal (and we mean "cure", not just relieve symptoms temporarily), the term "hot spot" is not going to be their top search word.

What our lotion does is eliminate skin disease that's caused by an infection or infestation, whether it's mites, bacteria, fungus (and yeast) or just an insect bite. And in order to help our customers find the only product that is guaranteed to solve problems like these, we needed to clarify the product name.

And now we have it. Canine Skin Rescue and Feline Skin Rescue Lotion. The same amazing product (Hot Spot Lotion) in a very handy tottle! Still made in the USA and loaded with organic ingredients. Safe, non-toxic, and guaranteed to work!

Look for it on store shelves near you soon!

Best wishes,
Dr Adelia

Skin Rescue Lotion for Dogs and Cats

New Packaging for DERMagic!

It's a new package and a new name for our best selling product. Formerly known as DERMagic Hot Spot Lotion, it's been renamed to more accurately reflect what this product does! It quickly takes care of hot spots, of course, but also wipes out yeast, mange, black skin disease, and helps restore normal hair growth in cases of alopecia. For all those allergic reactions, no other product comes close. And now it's so much easier to use!

Pomeranians love DERMagic

Meet Striker the Pomeranian on the day Deana, a Washington state Pom lover, brought him home from the shelter. It's easy to see why she fell in love with this little guy. Just look at that face!

Unfortunately, his face was his best asset, because his other asset was practically bare. This photo was taken in February 2009.

Deana started using DERMagic products on him hoping to restore his skin color to normal and to begin regaining a respectable coat. Here are two more photos, taken in June 2009.

We have had a few laughs about "Mr Fuzzy Butt" but it's no laughing matter when one's butt isn't fuzzy. Deana says "DERMagic works pretty darn sweet!"

And it does. DERMagic all-natural Hot Spot Lotion works like nothing else to eliminate mange, hot spots, ringworm, fungus, yeast, bacterial infections, and other dog skin problems resulting from an allergic reaction or an insect bite. And for helping wounds heal fast, nothing beats DERMagic!

Have a happy, healthy and problem-free summer!

Best wishes... Dr Adelia

Skoshi's Allergies

With the business I'm in, my dogs are not allowed to have skin issues! But no matter who you are or how well you take care of your animals, these things are going to happen.

My poor little Skoshi, a black and white Shih Tzu, has been suffering from a severe allergic response to something that bit him over the weekend, possibly a flea or an ant. The photo on the left of his upper right front leg, taken on Sunday, shows a raging hot spot, several of which had developed overnight from his scratching and biting himself.

When a dog is highly allergic, his entire body will feel hot and his skin will seem to glow pink. Skoshi tries to run away from his skin, and his behavior becomes very strange. Sometimes he even growls at the demon in his skin not understanding why he feels so tortured. Skoshi was itching all over his body, even though the bites were only on his belly.

Here's how we fixed him up: First, a bath with our SLS-free peppermint and tea tree oil shampoo. (Sodium laurel sulfate (SLS) is a known irritant and you will find it in nearly
every shampoo on the market.) Then, after clipping the hair around the wounds, we treated the inflamed areas and bites with our hot spot salve twice a day. The photo on the left was taken on Tuesday, only two days after applying the salve.

Today is Thursday, and he is almost completely back to normal. This weekend we'll give him another bath and check him over carefully before pronouncing him cured!
